Titanium dioxide is in powder form, and small molecule amine salt dispersants have a particularly good dispersing effect on titanium dioxide. After testing, white paste is made into paint, which has good adhesion on iron plates. However, on glass, there is no adhesion at all, and it is not resistant to water boiling, high temperature, and prone to yellowing.
So amine salt dispersants are not suitable for preparing glass white paint and high-temperature resistant white paint.
Classification of molecular weight of dispersants: Small molecule dispersants such as amine salts, sodium salts, phosphate esters, etc. Polymeric dispersants such as polyacrylic acid homopolymers, based on polyacrylic acid, polyacrylic acid copolymers, etc. Small molecule dispersants have low cost and good initial dispersion effect, but poor long-term stability; Large molecule dispersants have good initial dispersibility and later stability. In summary, whether a dispersant is suitable for dispersing titanium dioxide depends on compatibility, dispersion fineness, cost, paint performance, and the material on which the paint film is coated.
